I guess I should digress from publishing another in my series to announce that Gavin was born yesterday (April 30th) at 1:41 pm. I don't have any pictures up yet, they're all still on the camera which is at the hospital.
We had an ultrasound on Monday and a doctor's appoinment on Tuesday with plans to induce on Thursday of this week. Everything had indicated the baby was too big and needed to come sooner rather than later or risk needing to come by C-Section. The doctor had done a few things on Tuesday to try and stimulate labor naturally and it must have worked. Lisa was only in labor for four hours and did it all naturally (we had been fighting on this one, but my experience with Erica and one too many epidurals was not seeming to win her over.) The baby is big, but only measures in a 20.5 inches and 7lbs 13 oz. They had to weigh him twice, because no one believed he only weighed that.
On a side note, I'm curious to see how Gabby (our dog) reacts to him. She was already giving me a "WTH" look this morning when I gave her breakfast instead of Lisa. She has the chance to really win me over on this one, if she's as attentive to Gavin as she is to me...
On another side note. I lost my job on the 18th. Go figure. I wasn't given a very good reason, something about "not being a good match" which probably means I didn't meet their liberal views on how to influence children (I used fear and respect). I already have two jobs lined up. One in the County, the jail not law enforcement, though it seems like they'd prefer me for the latter. Another with a member of our ward who runs his own landscaping business. Crazy that both would pay equal to or more than I was making as a teacher, and neither one of them requires a degree past associates.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited for you guys! Glad to hear mommy didn't have too long a time with it all. Good luck, Can't wait to see pictures.
YAY!!!! CONGRATS! Good for Lisa on the natural Labor thing! I have been more afraid of the epidurals I've had in the babies since my "mis-hap" (required with c-sections) than I have of the actual surgery!
Sorry about your job. But at least you've got some things lined up. John and I will have you guys in our prayers. Give our love Lisa!
I've been their on the whole job thing. Remember my stint at ISU. Besides the lunches I got to go to with you guys, that experience was a total WASTE!
Anyway, congrats! Give my best to Lisa and your new son.
PS. It took me a minute to realize why your dog would have a "West Terre Haute" look on her face. I pictured a cross eyed inbred puppy for a split second.
Then I came back to planet earth and realized what you were saying!
AWESOME! Congrats! Can't wait to see pictures!
Actually Beej, I need your mailing address. Could you please send it to me in an email or post on the Brazil Bunch Blog. Thanks so much sweetie! Lots of Love!
Congratulations! Stephanie could only comment "4 HOURS! 4 HOURS! That is so not fair!!!!!" Hefty Benjamin weighing in at 9 lbs, 2 oz arrived 22 hours later.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
And ditto to what Stephanie said!
You are in our prayers.
P.S. Erica, I love the way your brain works! LOL!
Hey, where are those pictures?
